TriPeaks Solitaire

TriPeaks is the fastest, most arcade-like member of the Solitaire family. Twenty-eight cards form three overlapping peaks; you clear them by picking cards exactly one rank above or below the waste card — and every card in an unbroken chain is worth more than the last. Clear all three peaks before the stock runs out to win.

TriPeaks Strategy

Long chains are everything: each consecutive board card is worth more than the previous one, and clearing a peak pays a bonus. Before playing an obvious card, look for a longer sequence starting elsewhere — a chain like 4-5-6-5-4-3 clears six cards on one waste card.

Prefer moves that uncover face-down cards in the peaks over safe cards along the bottom row, and keep an eye on the stock count: with 24 stock cards for 28 board cards, you can only afford a handful of broken chains. Fans of this style should also try Pyramid Solitaire.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "one up or one down" mean exactly?

The card you pick must be adjacent in rank to the current waste card, in either direction. On a 7 you can play a 6 or an 8; suits are irrelevant.

Do Aces and Kings connect?

Yes — ranks wrap around, so an Ace can be played on a King and a King on an Ace.

Is every TriPeaks deal winnable?

No. Most deals are winnable with good play, but some layouts bury too many connections. Undo and Restart let you retry a promising deal.
